It's official. After much speculation, the two surviving members of the Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, will play on an upcoming TV special commemorating the 50th anniversary of their arrival in America.

On Jan. 26, the Beatles will be honored at the Grammy Awards with a Lifetime Achievement Award. And now it looks like the band's two surviving members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, will perform on the show.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr may mark the 50th anniversary of Beatlemania hitting U.S. shores next month by performing together. Showbiz 411 reports that the two surviving Beatles could show up on David Letterman's late-night show during his network's week-long celebration of the Fab Four.

On Feb. 9, 2014, CBS will mark the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' first appearance on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' in a big way.

Ringo Starr is releasing a book of photographs next month and it includes a picture he took of six teenagers in a car during The Beatles first trip to America in 1964. The six of them had cut class to go see the band arrive in New York and they just happened to pass a limousine carrying the band.  Ringo signaled for them to roll down their window, and then took the photo.

On Aug. 22, 1968, Ringo Starr had enough of his bandmates' constant bickering. So he packed up his drumsticks and walked out of the Beatles' chaotic recording sessions for their upcoming double album, 'The Beatles' (better known as 'The White Album'). And he planned to stay away for good.

Although they wouldn't officially disband until April 1970, the first signs that the four-headed beast known as the Beatles was starting to come apart at the seams took place on Aug. 22, 1968. A little more than six years to the day that he performed his first show with the group, drummer Ringo Starr walked out during the recording sessions for 'The Beatles.'

Only two days after Pete Best was fired as the drummer of the Beatles, the group performed their first official gig with Ringo Starr. The concert took place at Hulme Hall in Birkenhead - a ferry 'cross the Mersey away from Liverpool - on Aug. 18, 1962.

It's not clear what Joe Walsh is working on exactly, but the lineup he's assembled is certainly intriguing. The Eagles guitarist teased fans with a photo that indicates something very cool will be coming soon.
