David Bowie is paying tribute to Trevor Bolder a day after his former bassist succumbed following a lengthy battle with cancer. Bolder was also a member of Uriah Heep and Wishbone Ash.
The bad news: Uriah Heep's current singer is dropping out of some upcoming tour dates because of health issues. The good news: One of the band's former singers is filling in for him while he recovers.
Back in January, Uriah Heep bassist Trevor Bolder disclosed that he’d be taking a break from the band to undergo surgery. At the time his illness had not been publicly confirmed but online rumors pointed towards a heart attack. In a recent interview Bolder sets the record straight, confirming that the operation was actually for cancer, not for a heart attack.
Trevor Bolder, longtime bassist for Uriah Heep, is taking some time off from the band so that he can undergo an undisclosed operation. The band reported the news on its website (via Bravewords) yesterday (Jan. 13).
