I believe that is what is happening right now in the Oklahoma state government concerning the ongoing debate on whether the watermelon is a vegetable or a fruit and whether it should remain the state's official vegetable.
Watermelons - they’re sweet, enticing, and you usually get them from late spring until early fall. You can see them in the stores as early as March, but in order to get the best homegrown watermelons from the Lawton area fruit stands, you will have to wait until late summer.
Every year it is the same tradition. It starts with the Memorial Day weekend, signaling the unofficial start of summer. People are heading off in different directions. Kids are out of school and the fun begins.
