If you read a book today, you might be preserving your memory when you are old.  A study from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that reading any type of literature works to stimulate the brain and that stimulation will help you with your memory when you are old.

You didn't think Batman could turn 75 without getting a little love from the people at Mondo, did you? The purveyors of pop culture-inspired boutique art are going to celebrate 75 years of Batman in a big way, and they're kicking things off this week at Comic-Con 2014 with an exclusive Joker poster.

In news that will probably baffle comic book fans and normal people alike, it was revealed that Thor (yes, the Avenger) is no longer worthy of his title and will be replaced by a woman. Yes, you are allowed to unleash a collective "What?!" right about now.

A new report this week says digital book sales have surpassed book sales from brick-and-mortar stores for the first time in history. 'The Tonight Show' is down in Orlando for the week, and although the 'Harry Potter' theme park they overtook is packed with families, it's really for the kids, because it doesn't seem as if any of the parents in attendance have ever even picked up a book. Need proof? Jimmy Fallon sent out a writer to quiz some park-goers (no kids!) about some basic 'Potter' trivia, and the results were kind of dismal.

Author of 'Game of Thrones' George R.R. Martin is raising funds for the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary in New Mexico as well as the Food Depot of Sante Fe. By donating to this cause you might get killed for it in true 'Game of Thrones' fashion.

That number seems so low to me, but would probably seem like a good 'target' goal for my hubby. The Pew Research Center says, on average, Americans read 5 books per year.  69% read at least one printed book, 28% have read an e-book and 14% have listened to audiobooks.
