If you read a book today, you might be preserving your memory when you are old.  A study from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that reading any type of literature works to stimulate the brain and that stimulation will help you with your memory when you are old.

A new report this week says digital book sales have surpassed book sales from brick-and-mortar stores for the first time in history. I freely admit I am part of the digital world, but more importantly, I'm part of the reading world and will take my reads wherever I can get them.  At any one time, I have at least three to five books that are in some stage of completion.  I've posted my reading list

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5: Michelle Fairley Comments on Character Omission [SPOILERS]
[You're warned of major spoilers from both 'Game of Thrones' season 4 and George R.R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books.] Last week's 'Game of Thrones' finale, "The Children," sent many fans into an uproar for the surprising omission of one of the series' most shocking moments, the resurrection of a previously deceased character. ‘Harry Potter’ Trivia Is Not These Parents’ Strong Suit
'The Tonight Show' is down in Orlando for the week, and although the 'Harry Potter' theme park they overtook is packed with families, it's really for the kids, because it doesn't seem as if any of the parents in attendance have ever even picked up a book. Need proof? Jimmy Fallon sent out a writer to quiz some park-goers (no kids!) about some basic 'Potter' trivia, and the results were kind of dismal.

Archie Comics Releases All-Star Series of Variant Covers, Weirdly They’re To Commemorate Archie Andrews’ Death
What is assuredly the weirdest sentence I'll have written in all my years at this website: Archie Andrews will heroically sacrifice his life to save that of a deae friend in the penultimate issue of Life With Archie in July.  Written by Paul Kupperberg with art by Pat & Tim Kennedy and Fernando Ruiz, Life With Archie #36 will depict the title character's death and come with a plethora of varia

‘The Maze Runner’ Poster: And Now a ‘Hunger Games’ for the Boys
Young-adult entertainment goes through phases and we're currently waist deep in the "sci-fi dystopian" phase, where 'The Hunger Games' is the obvious high watermark. Although 'Divergent' will make a run at the throne in a few weeks, 'The Maze Runner' is taking aim at Katniss and company later this year, and the new poster looks strategically designed to tap into your love of that franchi

Americans Read Five Books A Year, What Are You Reading?
That number seems so low to me, but would probably seem like a good 'target' goal for my hubby. The Pew Research Center says, on average, Americans read 5 books per year.  69% read at least one printed book, 28% have read an e-book and 14% have listened to audiobooks.
