Billie Eilish had nothing but kind words for Ariana Grande at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards red carpet on Thursday, May 16.

“Ariana is a f—ing king! Like a king,” Eilish told Entertainment Tonight. “She is just so… God, man, and the s— that she’s been through. I don’t know if I have respect for anyone like I have for her, honestly.”

Eilish previously spoke about Grande in multiple interviews, sharing how much she admires her and her music. The pair met up backstage at Coachella, where they both performed during the festival. The two even text each other now.

“You can just tell she knows what the f— she’s doing, and even if she doesn’t realize it, she knows what the f— she’s doing,” Eilish continued. “And it’s really impressive. She just deals with it so well.”

Eilish was honored at the 2019 ASCAP Pop Music Awards alongside her brother and collaborator, Finneas O’Connell, for the Vanguard award. The award was presented by Julia Roberts.
