13 Reasons BTS Are the All-Time Music Video Kings
There may still be a few months left in 2018, but it's already been another milestone year for BTS. Since last week alone, they've broken two huge YouTube records: "Idol," which racked up more than 45 million views in its first day, usurped Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" as most-viewed video within 24 hours, and also surpassed 100 million views in record time (It's currently at over 115 million).
Their latest album, Love Yourself: Answer, is also expected to debut at No. 1 on the charts, marking their second-ever No.1 album (and their second this year). They previously nabbed the honor with Love Yourself: Tear in May, and remain the only K-pop act to ever pull off such a feat. Basically, BTS are making history left and right.
There are a lot of reasons for BTS' global ascension — a breakneck output, message-driven music, theatrical live shows, and, of course their fervent, ever-dedicated ARMY — but a big part of their success can be attributed to their music videos, always conceptual, story-driven, and filled with sharp, skillful choreography. In sum, these boys know how to make a moment happen.
