In a supreme act of compassion on Thursday, a group of good Samaritans in Salt Lake City lifted a minivan off of a wheelchair-bound man trapped underneath. Superman is real! And he’s inside all of us.

The 68-year-old man was reportedly crossing the street in a wheelchair when he was struck by the car. The man’s wheelchair was knocked on its side and became wedged under the vehicle’s front bumper.

Gloria Woolman, the 63-year-old driver of the minivan, said she didn’t even see the man before she drove into him.

According to a local fire captain, the bystanders who rescued the man probably saved his life. Currently, he’s in the hospital in critical condition. Watch the incredible story below.
