Spooky and scary stories of hauntings always give a gratifying chill during this time of year. But, as the kids say, it "hits different" when you know that a story isn't just a work of fiction. Have you heard the real history of one of the most popular live music venues in Oklahoma?

Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Way back in 1924, Cains ballroom started as a garage, believe it or not, for an infamous man named W. Tate Brady. Brady didn't have a good reputation, being associated with the Ku Klux Klan and other acts of terrorism. He's most known not only for his co-founding of Tulsa, Oklahoma, but also for his part in the Tulsa Race Massacre.

Brady eventually committed suicide because of losing his son in an automobile accident and the building was taken over by Madison Cain who turned it into Cain's Ballroom for western swing dance lessons.

Bob Wills and Other Hauntings

Early on when Cain's Ballroom first started, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys were able to use the ballroom for radio broadcasts and performances. Eventually, the band bought out the building's lease from "Daddy" Cain and became theirs.

Spirits have been looming around the building for years. In some instances, people have captured shadows and looming bodies in photos. Often, visitors have reported hearing giggles, voices and getting drastic temperature changes in random areas.

Ghost hunters who've visited have also captured "potential Electronic Voice Phenomenons (EVP)" and strange Electromagnetic Field (EMF) readings.

Any Present Day Activity in Tulsa?

Since the venue stays active with performances, there's little chance of seeing dramatic sightings during your visit. But some still report getting chills and seeing a few apparitions in the backstage area.
