Christmas Parades & Holiday Festivities Starting As Early As November in Oklahoma
That's right, we're already getting ready for Christmas, even before the actual cold weather comes in.
You can't blame most towns for wanting to get into the holiday spirit sooner rather than later, especially since there are only five weeks in December. And with everything each city has planned, five weeks isn't nearly enough time to enjoy it all.
Some fan favorite Christmas attractions are closed this year, unfortunately, but there are several other options for families to visit.
Earliest Christmas parade kicks off the holiday season before Thanksgiving in Lawton.
This year, Lawton's making room for the big guy before the big turkey. The weekend before Thanksgiving, on Saturday, November 22, the Holiday in the Park kicks off with a parade, holiday games, and more.
Although it might look a little rushed, Lawton is competing with several other Christmas-themed events throughout the entire month of December in Oklahoma. Several events happen on the same day and times as others, so it will be tough for visitors to choose just where they want to kick off their holiday season.
Luckily, most local options happen outside of one another, so families who live in southwest Oklahoma can take advantage of multiple celebrations.
Some Christmas favorites of Oklahoma are closed until 2026.
One of the largest attractions in Oklahoma lies on Route 66, called the Christmas Chute. Every year, businesses that line Route 66 light up their store fronts with some of the most amazing, mesmerizing light displays to celebrate the holiday season.

Unfortunately, they announced at the very beginning of 2025 that they would be closed this holiday season and not returning until 2026. However, the city of Sapulpa is still celebrating Christmas in their own way, with or without the Chute.
But, the Christmas show will go on in Oklahoma. Many of Oklahoma's best Christmas towns are already setting up their light displays and preparing for a thrilling holiday season. Check out the top-notch holiday parades you can visit this winter below.
