
Iconic Red Dirt Band Inducted Into Oklahoma’s Hall of Fame
After making their debut back into the music scene, Cross Canadian Ragweed has been steady planning one of the most memorable reunions of the century. However, there have been a few happenings that even they could not be prepared for and one landed them in Oklahoma's Music Hall of Fame.
Stillwater-based band surprised with news of being inducted into music Hall of Fame
While performing at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cody Canada & The Departed were playing their normal set while the rest of Cross Canadian band support them from backstage. During a break, the announcer at the show surprised the group with the news that Cross Canadian Ragweed would be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
Cross Canadian Ragweed is one of the most well-known country rock bands from Stillwater, Oklahoma. Their fame stemmed from being one of the founding bands of the Red Dirt music movement, along with other acts like Bob Childers, Jason Boland and the Stragglers and the Great Divide.
Why has Cross Canadian Ragweed received so much attention?
Fans were crushed when the band took what would turn out to be a 14 year haitus since their break up in 2010. Last year, however, their fame seemed to skyrocket once again when they announced their reunion concert in April 2025.
Since they've announced their reunion, Cross Canadian Ragweed has been able to perform in several places across the country. They've also been making special appearances at different festivals and events, in a way to give back to fans who may not have been lucky enough to get tickets to the upcoming shows.
