Eagle watching season in Oklahoma is almost over, and Wildlife professionals don't want anyone to miss out.

Every Saturday morning until March 7, 2026, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is hosting free bald eagle-watching tours at the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge.

While you're visiting the Refuge in Vian, Oklahoma, there are plenty of other experiences to add to your trip. Make a day, or even a weekend out of it, and see our country's national bird in person.

What to Expect on the Free Eagle Tour

Vian, Oklahoma sits on the eastern edge of the state near the Arkansas border. If you plan on attending the free guided tours, you'll need to plan to be up early.

Each tour starts at 9 a.m. at the refuge headquarters at 107993 S 4520 Rd., Vian, Oklahoma. The tours can last between three to four hours, mainly depending on the birds. After all, you can't go eagle-watching if there aren't any eagles!

No registration is required. Just come dressed and prepared for weather changes. Everyone rides together on the Refuge tour bus, and it may make frequent stops to find the best viewing spots. Pro tip: bring a pair of binoculars to see them even better.
