On Saturday, dogs from the Elgin Animal Shelter got the chance to meet prospective families in a location that put everyone on common ground. Out at Osborne Park, those prospective families got the chance to find their newest members in a location that put everyone at ease, and gave them a great opportunity to play and get to know each other without those pesky shelter bars acting as a reminder.

Dogs got the chance to interact with new families, in what many from the shelter and the community believe was the best atmosphere for all. Dogs and families interacted in a safe, friendly atmosphere, with many pets finding their furr-ever homes during the event. They had adoptions that day, and plan to have more meet and greets like this in the future. If you want to keep up with the shelter, visit their Facebook page.
