Oklahomans Be Aware Of Pottawatomie County Escaped Inmate
Take a good look at the photo below. Law enforcement is searching for an escaped inmate from the Clara Walters Community Corrections Center in Pottawatomie County in south central Oklahoma.
Authorities Searching For Inmate Who Walked Away From Corrections Center
Community members should keep an eye out for an inmate named Jody Patterson, who walked away, mid-day, from the corrections center near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is currently supposed to be serving five years for burglary.
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections urged the public not to approach the escaped inmate and simply contact authorities with information if they know Patterson's whereabouts.
Clara Walters Community Corrections Center Different From Other Facilities
Generally speaking, the Clara Walters Community Corrections Center is known for housing inmates that are transitioning out of prison. Inmates are able to reach different accomplishments before being released, like earning their G.E.D. or receive a four month substance abuse treatment program.
Unlike like other correctional facilities, inmates housed here are hopefully ready to finish their time and transition peacefullt back into the public. Unfortunately, it appears as though Patterson was ready to leave earlier than he was permitted to.
This is not the first time a similar situation has occurred at Clara Walters; just two months ago, another inmate also unlawfully walked away while being housed at the facility. In their case, they were found quickly overnight.
With the incoming severe weather that Oklahomans are expecting within the next few days, civilians are hoping that Patterson is caught soon to prevent him from suffering in severely cold temperatures.
