The Cameron University School of Arts & Sciences; and the Cameron University Department of Art, Music & Theatre Arts are hosting various events for the entire community to enjoy this spring 2019 semester.

Over the last couple of days, I've had the pleasure of enjoying some really remarkable concerts. On Thursday, I attended the Cameron University Concert Band in combined concert with the 77th Army Band. On Sunday, I attended the Spring Concert for the Cameron/Lawton Community Band and the Cameron/Lawton Civic Chorale. And, on last night, I attended the Cameron University Civic Symphony Concert.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Being able to share this experience with my family made it all the more important. It was actually quite nostalgic. Attending these concerts brought me back to a time when I was younger; when the importance of art and music were recognized, valued and appreciated.

I remember when attending the symphony & the ballet were regular occurrences in grade school. They say you never miss what you’ve got till it’s gone; and although I did not fully comprehend the value of those experiences back then, I definitely have a greater appreciation for those memories today.

That’s why I so cherish this year’s Spring Concert series at Cameron. By attending all of the upcoming events, or at least as many as I possibly can, this gives me another opportunity to fall in love with this musical art form all over again.

The beauty of these events is that they are all FREE to Cameron students, faculty, and staff with a valid CU-ID. For the community, regular ticket prices are just $10 for adults & $8 for Seniors/Military/Students.

All of the performances are located at the University Theatre (UT), or McCutcheon Recital Hall (MRH). For more information about any Music events, please call (580) 581-2346.
