As a proud Army momma, I know this news is so very welcomed by Army Moms here at Fort Sill.  I'm thinking back to June 29, 2012, when several of my family members traveled to Georgia to witness my son's graduation from Basic Training.  I remember the feeling of such pride, that he was willing to do whatever it might take to defend his country and our freedom.

The last year has taken so much away by limiting these once in a lifetime events to only the graduates. We enjoyed the pageantry of the soldiers marching in formation, the speeches from commanders, but especially when the soldiers were released to their families to go home!

Sure, I'd still be proud, even if I had to watch the graduation virtually, but I have to tell you there is nothing that can replace a momma hugging her new graduate.  Way to go Fort Sill!  We are more than ready for more in person graduations.  Of course, families should continue to monitor unit Facebook pages, and the official Fort Sill Facebook for any updates or changes to this policy.
