Oklahoma Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives Guy Fieri Raves About
I suppose it's normal for any television show that has been around as long as Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to end up having a big impact by featuring just about every state. Oklahoma is no different. The Mayor of Flavortown has carved his way across Oklahoma, soaking up every bit of gravy he could find.
On the list of Triple-D eateries, you'll find the classic and renowned favorites, worldwide famous eats, and a lot of hipster, fashionable eats that make up the current state of restaurant culture at the moment.
I've been honest with you over the years about how I don't spend most weekends in Lawton, it really depends if I'm working or not. Rather than sitting around watching TV for two days, I'm traveling the two-lane highways looking for good eats and new places to explore. As such, I've had just about all of these places over the years. While I'll give you the straight answers on what I think of it, I also try to give you the yin-yang of what everyone else is saying too.
In reality, as some of the best Italian I've ever had actually came from a German restaurant, there's no way I'll know if you'll like the food. The only way to judge a place is to actually have a meal there yourself. Before you leave for dinner, try to plan your route through the lesser-traveled roads. Believe me, when you see the sights in small towns like Alvin, you'll realize the journey is half the fun.
While this list really hits the good eats you'll find in the metropolitan areas of Oklahoma, be sure to stretch your adventurous appetite to enjoy the best meals from some of the best rural hole-in-the-wall restaurants Southwest Oklahoma has to offer too. Can't go wrong with these.
