Igloos In Oklahoma? Yep, It’s Really Happening!
Forgive me for jumping on the Christmas train, but it's hard not to get excited about this time of year. Especially when entire towns light up and become a sort of wonderland for at least a few months. And that's exactly what's happening in Sapulpa, Oklahoma this year.
Sapulpa's Christmas Chute
@adventuresinoklahoma The Christmas Chute in Sapulpa, OK is open starting Nov 14th! #christmasinoklahoma #oklahomafun #thingstodoinoklahoma #sapulpachristmaschute #sapulpaoklahoma #oklahoma #route66 #christmasvideos ♬ original sound - christmas sounds 🎄
Every year, Route 66 comes alive during the Christmas season by decorating, lighting up and celebrating the holidays. 10 of the businesses and shops in Sapulpa along the famous highway all participate in the Christmas Chute. Visitors are able to walk along the businesses' canopies, all decorated in different Christmas themes.
From now until December 29, Route 66 will have daily events and vendors all Christmas themed. Visitors can shop, get photos with Santa (select days will also include pet photos with Santa, even enjoy Christmas cookies and cocoa as well.
Where Are The Igloos?
While you're there, you can also rent an igloo (or Oklahoma's version of one)! The igloos are perfect for cuddling up in a blanket with your friends and family and playing lawn games and enjoying their cocoa and other amenities that come with the experience. It's best to prepare ahead of time by reserving an igloo online.
They also have mischevious elves making their appearance throughout the walk and this year, they've even added more. These elves move around each week and are part of the Scavenger Hunt at the Chute.
