Is Lawton Getting a Panera Bread on Sheridan Across from Walmart?

The open lot next to Raising Cain's Chicken has been sold. There's been rumors galore as to who purchased it and what could be coming to Lawton, Fort Sill. Originally there was talk of Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen moving in, then the talk turned to Panera Bread. We've been hearing rumors of Panera Bread for some time now and it's looking like it may be true. We're starting to see signs online that Panera Bread is coming.

There's some evidence that these rumors may just be true. There's been a few "Help Wanted" postings online for a restaurant manager position at Panera Bread in Lawton on N.W. Sheridan road. Click here to see posting. It was originally posted back in January of 2020 and expired that same month. There are other similar postings for both manager and other kitchen staff openings for Panera Bread in Lawton. So its looking like we'll be getting our own Panera Bread on N.W. Sheridan across from Walmart.*Fingers Crossed*

It'll be nice to have some more choices when it comes to dinning out, not to mention the additional jobs this will bring. Panera Bread has great soups, sandwiches, wraps, pastas, salads, pastries, bagels and all kinds of fresh baked breads and other treats. Their chicken noodle soup is amazing especially when it's paired with a bacon and turkey sandwich. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is also a must try.

Not too sure when they'll begin the construction process, but the land has been purchased and is ready to build on. I'm sure the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed, if not stopped construction. Hopefully things will improve so they can get to work on it. Let's hope that COVID-19 hasn't completely ruined the deal and that they still plan on moving forward with the new restaurant. We could definitely use a Panera Bread in Lawton!
