Another Ford Recall, A Seriously Dangerous Situation Could Happen

Do you remember when were just driving in those first few years? We all did dare-devil stuff because we were younger! Brake Check! That stupid trick was hilarious in my late teens.

You hit the brake and then yell, "Brake Check!" slamming your passenger forward either into the dashboard or the seat belt. It was funny back then indeed, but it's not so funny today as Ford has announced they are recalling 870,000 F-150 trucks.

The model F-150 trucks being recalled are model years 2021 through 2023. According to what Ford told Reuters,

Contact with the rear axle housing may damage the wiring harness, causing the electric parking brake to activate unexpectedly.

The good news is that Ford says there have been no reports to them that injuries or deaths have occurred because of this problem, but there have been 918 warranty claims from across the country about this issue.

Of those almost 1,000 issues that were reported, there were 299 claims where the person's Ford F-150 "indicated the electric parking brake had activated unintentionally including 19 while driving."

If you are trying to figure out what to do to fix the problem, you can contact Ford about what to do. They more than likely will be sending out a written letter explaining what to do and how the situation will be fixed by the manufacturer. That is standard procedure in a case like this.
