It's Labor Day weekend this coming weekend! In Oklahoma, it's an official marker of the end of summer; workers celebrate the (hopefully) soon-to-be end of those summer temps and families take a breather after getting back in the groove of school.

If you're a hard worker, this weekend is meant to celebrate all that you've accomplished throughout the year for the country and around here, we have a lot to thank to our blue collar workers, law enforcement and military.

If you're visiting Oklahoma, here are some of the most popular Labor Day Events happening this weekend that you should make an effort to attend.

Big Dam Party - Tulsa, Oklahoma

This year, Tulsa added a few more water-works including Zink Lake, Tulsa Wave Park, Williams Crossing, and the Tulsa Great Draft Race. All of which are open for the free four day celebration, the Big Dam Party.

This Labor Day celebration is also the kick off for several fall events happening into October, more of the details of these events can be found here.

Henryetta Labor Day Celebration - Henryetta, Oklahoma

Music, food, games and even a parade are part of one of the longest running Labor Day celebrations in eastern Oklahoma. Its free and open to the public and happening all weekend long.

Fletcher Free Fair - Fletcher, Oklahoma

Fletcher is one of the smaller towns of southwest Oklahoma. To paint a picture for you, my graduating class in 2016 was a mere 28 people.

The yearly free fair is one of the only events the town has to look forward to. It's the time of year that everyone in the community comes together to enjoy the fun of the fair, livestock shows, farm days, parades and so much more.

Things kick off Thursday, August 29, 2024 and run until Saturday, August 31, 2024. Keep up with updated on the Town of Fletcher facebook page for news of live music, livestock shows and parade details.

Nowhere End of Summer Celebration - Fort Cobb, Oklahoma

Yes, there really is a place called Nowhere, Oklahoma right beside Fort Cobb Lake and it is beautifully. The new owners of the Nowhere Bait Shop and Lakestore are trying to find more ways for everyone in the area to have fun.

That's why they're hosting the first Nowhere End of Summer Celebration with live music, vendors, food and good company right beside the lake.

The Blues Ball - Medicine Park, Oklahoma

Blues music is coming to Medicine Park this weekend. Bands from around Oklahoma bring the true groove of blues to southwest Oklahoma perform all weekend long at the new Hitchin' Post Park stage beside the Park Tavern.

The music festival is free and is usually flooded with vendors and great opportunities to check out the town's unique businesses.

Ringwood Community Fair - Ringwood, Oklahoma

If you missed the Rush Springs Watermelon Festival, you're in luck - there is one more watermelon festival to look forward to this weekend. They've got quite a few different events from the Rush Springs festival.

This is the first town I've seen to have a town-wide water fight and walking tacos for their festival. But they are also having a 5k Run, Fun Run, and a lot more.

It may be the community fair, but everyone in the northern part of Oklahoma is invited. Ringwood is just shy of 2 hours from Oklahoma, closest to Enid and Fairview, Oklahoma.
