Lance Armstrong Retires from Cycling
World-famous cyclist and seven-time winner of the Tour de France Lance Armstrong has announced his retirement from the sport. The 39-year-old previously retired for 3 years in 2005, but he says this time it's for good, claiming his age is catching up with him.
“It has been an excellent ride,” he told The Associated Press. “I really thought I was going to win another Tour. Then I lined up like everybody else and wound up third.”
Armstrong is currently under investigation of performance-enhancing drug use.
