Vendors Needed For Lawton’s First Public Flea Market in 2025

A much anticipated Flea Market event is scheduled on February 22, 2025 and being hosted by Voodoo Hydro in Lawton, Oklahoma. They've just announced openings for any and all vendors to come rent a space, set up shop and sell what they've got to Lawton's community at the end of this month.

Lawton's First Flea Market Event of 2025 Now Open For Vendors To Apply

Kourtney Brown, Heather Michelle and Greg Carroll from Voodoo Hydro decided to be the head of the spear for the Flea Market idea. Vendors interested in selling their products at the upcoming event can contact them and secure a booth by calling Voodoo Hydro at 580-699-2669.

They are currently accepting varound 14 vendors and will continue to take them until all of the slots are full. The event will be the first of the year and they are hoping to host a flea market monthly during 2025.

Flea Market Offering Different Products Than Lawton Farmers Market

Although Lawton does host a Farmers Market, there is more flexibility in what types of vendors a flea market can have versus a farmers market. Lawton Farmers Market Manager Cindy Myers Cavin Nocton explained on the public Facebook group "Lawton Grapevine" that the farmers market must have a certain percentage of food-related vendors in order to be considered a "farmers market," among many other restrictions and guidelines.

In Oklahoma, a flea market is typically hosted in an open area with vendors selling a variety of items that aren't required to be handmade, homemade or homegrown. Often times, these are not food-related, secondhand items like antiques, vintage items and more.

Haggling and negotiating are also normal techniques for buying and selling goods at a flea market, which you won't typically see at a farmers market; although, trading goods might be a more common way to do business at a farmers market instead of a flea market.
