Anyone that knows me well, knows that I have an obsession with cookbooks, and Koozies. Let's tackle first things first.  When I moved at the end of the year, we cleaned out the pantry and I think I had about 70 cookbooks from baking to quick meals, to recipes with soups, and finally Chaffles, those quick low carb delights! Those are still boxed up in my garage, but I can't stop myself from buying just one more!

It was such a surprise to find that Lawton Public Schools Foundation has published a cookbook with entries from teachers, support personnel, foundation members, and their relatives.  There's nothing like a recipe with a history!  Some of those stories are included in the cookbook.  Even if you don't cook, this cookbook will give your great reading, while your husband is watching Gunsmoke!

Lawton Public Schools Foundation has historically held a breakfast at Golden Corral as one of their main fund raisers every year, but like so many events this year, it was cancelled because of COVID 19..  That left a deep hole in the budget for this year.  LPS Foundation is set up to help teachers, and in turn students in the Lawton Public Schools.

Cookbooks are available at several locations for just $30.  To get your own copy, stop by these local businesses:

  • Liberty National Bank, 4005 W Gore Blvd
  • 1010 Mercantile, 1802 W. Gore Blvd.
  • Flowers By Ramon, 2010 W. Gore Blvd.
  • All Locations of City National Bank
  • Great Expectations Medispa, 5366 W. Cache Road
  • Tipton's Fine Jewelry, 6121 NW Cache Road

Looking through the cookbook this morning and I happened upon a recipe that I know Critter, my morning show partner will love!  It's John Wayne Casserole!  Hot, spicy and uber cheesy!  I think Dakota might like it too!
