Who said recording a new album was stressful? Well, certainly not Lynyrd Skynyrd! Judging by the photo above, the recording sessions for their upcoming disc ‘Last of a Dyin’ Breed’ were anything but.

A new black and white photo series posted by Roadrunner Records follows the band in the studio hard at work, or maybe we should say.. hard at play? The photos were taken by Johnny Van Zant’s daughter Kristen who reportedly chronicled the whole recording process for the new disc.

The photos capture the band in many different states of creation from brainstorming to blowing off some steam and some behind the scenes shots of guitars and gear. Produced by Bob Marlette, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Last of a Dyin’ Breed’ is due out on Aug. 21. Lynyrd Skynyrd will kick off a new tour on July 6, check out all the dates here.

No dates in your neighborhood? Fear not! You can always set sail on the high seas with the band on their upcoming Simple Man Cruise set for Oct. 27-31 on Norwegian Cruise Line. The cruise will feature performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd in addition to the Doobie Brothers and more.
