George Miller wrote and directed all three of the ‘Mad Max’ movies, but before his work behind the camera, Miller was actually a doctor. He completed his residency at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital in 1972 and used some of his savings to finance the original ‘Mad Max’ film. ‘Mad Max’ was Mel Gibson’s first leading role as an actor and in the sequel, ‘The Road Warrior’, Gibson doesn’t speak until 11 minutes into the movie and only has 16 lines of dialogue in the whole film!
