Margot Robbie’s ‘Virgin Queen’ + Four Seasons of ‘Stranger Things': Pop Bits
If we didn't tell you the woman playing Queen Elizabeth I was Margot Robbie, you'd probably never guess. Plus, Stranger Things is shaping up for two more seasons after this year's premiere: These are today's Pop Bits.
Margot Robbie Goes All In On Queen Elizabeth I
The Suicide Squad star will play Queen Elizabeth I opposite Saoirse Ronan's Queen Mary in the upcoming Mary, Queen of Scots. The first images of Robbie and Ronan in costume were revealed this week, showing just how much of a transformation the Aussie underwent to look like the 1550s English monarch. If she ever wants to go unnoticed at Comic-Con, Robbie should definitely hire this make-up team again.
Stranger Things Is Getting a Third Season, But The Potential Fourth Will Be Its Last
The highly anticipated second season of Netflix's '80s-inspired Stranger Things is still a few months away, but the Duffer Brothers are already eying plans for the third chapter. In a recent interview, the duo confirmed a third season was on the way, but also alluded that the fourth season would likely be the last. After four years of living in that town, I'd GTFO, too.
Family Unknowingly Owns Norman Rockwell Original, Sells It For $1.6 Million
One of my favorite Norman Rockwell paintings, "Tough Call," features a group of umpires standing around in a drizzle wondering if they should call the impending baseball game. While I'll never get to own the real deal, one Texas family found that what they believed was a print of the painting inherited from their umpire grandfather was actually one of Rockwell's original studies for the final piece. I would have kept it, but it's hard to argue with a million reasons to sell it.
WWE's Nikki Bella Joins Dancing With The Stars
From winning a championship in the squared circle to tangoing on the parquet floors of ABC's celebrity competition Dancing With The Stars, it seems there is no limit to what Nikki Bella can do. She and Property Brothers' Drew Scott are the latest stars to join the cast of the 25th season (my God) of the celebrity dance competition. No word on whether or not John Cena will be in attendance cheering his wife on.
Queen Biopic Fills Out the Rest of the Band
Bryan Singer's Bohemian Rhapsody film, which is about one of rock's greatest bands, Queen, has finally managed to find actors to play the rest of the seminal rockers. Rami Malek was already in line to play Freddie Mercury, but now Joe Mazzello, Ben Hardy and Gwilym Lee have signed on to play bass guitarist John Deacon, drummer Roger Taylor and lead guitarist Brian May respectively. The movie is due out Christmas 2018.
