Mike Campbell, the longtime guitarist for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, will hold two benefit concerts in time for the holidays. The second annual Merry Minstrel Musical Circus: A Holiday Gathering and Goodwill Jamathons will take place at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Dec. 20 and 21.

ABC News Radio is reporting that there are two beneficiaries of the concert. The Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund is a shelter in Los Angeles for old and/or sick dogs. They also have programs for dog owners who are having difficulty in taking care of their pets. Campbell's wife is the fund's president, and the guitarist is on the board. The second recipient of the evenings' proceeds is Manual Arts High School, one of the oldest high schools in Los Angeles. The school is looking to purchase new brass and woodwind instrumens.

The concerts are a collaborative effort between Campbell and singer-songwriter Jonathan Wilson. Although the lineup has not yet been announced, the inaugural event last year featured Jackson Browne, Bob Weir, Jeff Lynne and Campbell's fellow Heartbreaker, Benmont Tench.

The Dec. 20 show is already sold out, but tickets for the second show will go on sale at noon on Nov. 25 (Monday) at the club's website. Tickets are $40.
