What Is The Jacobson House Native Art Center in Norman?

The very unique Jacobson House was originally built in 1917 by Oscar and Jeanne Jacobson. They built the home with "passive climate control systems" and ways to incorporate nature with the family.

Oscar Jacobson was not only a prominent landscape painter of the Southwest, but he also actively pushed arts to Oklahoma as a developing state. He also built close relationships with Oklahoma's Native Americans and became an ally over time.

The house was restored after Jacobson passed away and remains one of the important pieces of history for Oklahoma.
