This year was definitely a difficult one to get through for some folks in Oklahoma. But luckily, next year, there were be a few things that we can look forward to in the sooner state.

Oklahoma's 2024 Recap - Highlights & Memorable Moments

2024 was definitely a chaotic year to get through. The Presidential election, numerous security breaches this year, and of course, good ol' inflation were just a few of the things that made the year all the more difficult.

More locally, Oklahoma suffered numerous weather related difficulties this year, with record breaking tornadoes in the spring, intense heat during the summer longer than normal and nearly an entire month without a single drop of rain this fall. The weather unfortunately caused some major damage that even some communities in Oklahoma are still recovering from.

But luckily, a new brings new and better things. Although not everyone's plans have been put out there, here's a few things that are for sure coming to Oklahoma next year:

Lawton Gains A New Aquatic Center, expected to be open July 2025.

OKANA Restort in Oklahoma City is expected to open.

American Heartland Theme Park along Route 66 construction expected to begin; RV Park should be completed by 2025, Resort and Theme Park finished by 2026.

Bojangles set to open in late 2025 in Oklahoma City.

Games & Entertainment

New Fairgrounds Coliseum coming to Oklahoma City, helping maintain Oklahoma's "horse show capital of the world" status. A new karting and gaming venue is being opened sometime next year called Andretti's.

A new movie re-establishing Will Rogers' story and the importance of Native American Culture is hopefully going to start the filming process in the Tulsa area.
