Summer Nights Come Alive With The NightWater Music Series
A new, exciting "after hours" kind of event is kickstarting at Riversport OKC in Oklahoma City. Starting Thursday, June 5 and running until the beginning of August this year, the Oklahoma Film and Music Office is collaborating with Riversport OKC to bring the "NigtWater Music Series" to Oklahoma.
The series is a movement to promote Oklahoma's thriving live music scene while giving Oklahomans a chance to cool off during the brutal summer heat. Every Thursday evening, Riversport will have various artists performing while visitors can enjoy the usual rafting, surfing and tubing fun they offer.
The special occasion is a family-friendly fun way to show off one of Oklahoma's strongest suits: our musicians. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that we have some of the best artists who come from humble beginnings in Oklahoma.

"There must be something in the water."
No matter what kind of music you listen to, there's a good chance that you've fallen in love with someone's music who was somehow influenced by Oklahoma. Even artists like LANY and Wiz Khalifa have roots here in the sooner state. Some say that there's something that this state has that makes our musicians some of the greatest, like Executive Director of OKCFCIO.

“Oklahoma’s rich musical roots go deep and cross many genres. The phrase, ‘there is something in the water here,’ referring to our state’s significant cultural influences, takes on a new meaning with the launch of Riversport’s OKC NightWater Music Series," she said.
