Top 5 Hilarious Videos From Oklahoma’s Nomad’s Animal Encounter
Recently, one of Oklahoma's own live animal experiences was ranked the best in the United States by Newsweek. Before the award, though, the owner, Matt Crabtree, was catching eyes on social media with his hilarious Oklahoma-related skits.
Now, Crabtree has been helping turn those eyes from just Oklahoma drama and comedy to wild and weird fun facts that may or may not relate to some of the animals they work with at Nomad's Animal Encounter.
Nomads stands out against big-business facilities and zoos. They started their business building everything on their own from the ground up with a purpose that they still hold close to their hearts even today.
One viral Facebook post started the Nomad's Animal Encounter full-time journey.
Social media has played a large part in the growth and success of Nomads Animal Encounter. According to Crabtree, he mentioned that after a video on Facebook went viral, he and his wife were able to quit their full time jobs and care for their exotic rescues solely.
"We quit our full-time jobs the next day, and this is what we’ve done ever since," he told the Oklahoma Farm Report in an interview.
But social media isn't the only reason their animal encounter experience has gained so much attention. Their original game-plan, that they still stick to now, is their goal to help provide a home for exotic animals that find themselves without a home.
Exotic animals are not for everyone.
He also knows when to call it quits or turn the animals over to the next best option for their well-being, citing his decision to relocate a water buffalo he had attempted to care for.
Crabtree has reiterated on many occasions that exotic animals are not pets and shouldn't be owned by just anyone. We've seen tragedy from exactly what Crabtree talks about here in Oklahoma, such as the incident involving a farmer killed by a water buffalo earlier this year.
But, at least Nomad's exists to help folks who make the mistake of taking on an animal they may or may not have known would be too much for them to handle.
Crabtree's knack for humor and creativity helps the animal encounter experience.
Rather than harping on people all of the time, Crabtree turns to social media to educate folks. Most of the time, it's usually crazy odd or incredulous things about Oklahoma. Recently, he's started to incorporate wild facts about animals that most people may not know.
Here are some of the best videos we've seen so far from Nomad's Animal Encounter on social media.
