With as many storms as Oklahoma has, you don't often come across many Okies that have been struck by lightning. Which is interesting because during a severe thunderstorm, Oklahomans love to stand outside and watch the storms roll down the plains.

Recently, Oklahoma had a bout of severe weather that brought heavy rains, high winds, hail and a lot of lightning. One father decided to take their son outside to experience an Oklahoma past time of watching the storms roll in when they were narrowly missed by a lightning strike.

In a video posted to TikTok, @klng.cody is shown carrying their son on their shoulders outside the house as a storm is brewing outside their Oklahoma home. The caption on the video reads "trying to show my son what lightning is." Their son looks to be younger than five years old, and of course is fascinated by the weather outside, just like true Oklahoman.

They're outside for no more than a few seconds, and then all of a sudden lightning strikes. You hear the crash and you see lightning flash close to the faces of the father and son. Both are too stunned to say anything! The father, of course, turns around and gives a "omg, what just happened look" to their wife.

Of course, a lot people had some funny things to say in the comments, like the son is the new Thor and many references to the classic AC/DC song "Thunderstruck."

Some expressed disbelief. But @klng.cody commented back to a few saying it happened right in front of them!
