Have you ever seen a giraffe get the zoomies? Oklahomans have the opportunity to witness these zoomies firsthand at the Tulsa Zoo. Now that the warmer weather has made it's way to Oklahoma, visitors will also be able to do more than just watch the giraffes and other animals.

Tulsa, Oklahoma zoo captures adorable footage of giraffe calf zoomies.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma Zoo is celebrating a new giraffe calf born earlier this year. While enjoying the warmer weather, the zoo staff caught the calf running amuck and galavanting around the enclosure.

The zoo's baby giraffe, currently unnamed, was born Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 and has since learned to use those lanky legs to run and play with her family. When she was born, she already stood at six-foot-tall even and weighed 165lbs, according to the Tulsa Zoo. Now, at nearly a month old, she's steadily gaining weight and catching up to her mother's height. Visitors can spot her in the pastures with her parents and older sister, Mi-Na.

Visitors to the Tulsa Zoo can hand feed adult giraffes from now until October 12.

While visitors are only able to see the calf from a distance, the Tulsa Zoo did announce a more interactive opportunity with the other adult giraffes. Starting now until Oct. 12, guests are able to hand feed their friendly giraffes, weather permitting.

The interactive feeding experience will be on Fridays through Sundays at the Mary K. Chapman Giraffe Experience deck from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 for general admission and $5 for zoo members. All prices are subject to sales tax.

More precious baby animals at the Tulsa Zoo.

The Tulsa Zoo doesn't just have a remarkable baby giraffe this year. Among the other baby animals they're caring for, they have critically endangered Malayan tiger cubs, a new siamang infant and even baby African penguins. A new adorable baby chimpanzee is also expected to be on the way!

Since Spring has arrived, visitors will more than likely spot the animals being more active and playful. If you're interesting in visiting the Tulsa Zoo, click here to find out more.
