Only In Oklahoma – Video Captures Loose Highland Cow Visiting McDonald’s
Oklahoma is definitely part of cattle country in the U.S. Maybe that's why when we see loose cattle, horses at the local Sonic drive-thru, or cowboys catching criminals, we don't blink an eye and just tip our metophorical hats to them.
Things get really crazy, though, when you see cattle and livestock loose in parts of Oklahoma that you usually don't see them. That's why the appearance of this Highland cow caught everyone off gaurd.

Brave people attempt to wrangle a loose Highland cow in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
According to the video's caption, an adult Highland cow was loose just outside of a McDonald's restaurant on the evening of Tuesday, November 4.
You can tell the folks trying to corral the cow weren't necessarily worried about getting it moving anywhere else, and likely had been trying to rope it by hand. Judging by the dangling rope around it, it may have been caught previously.
Unfortunately, we don't know how the incident wrapped up, but since there were not reports of a wild cow closing down I-44 traffic, we can guess that the people were able to get it wrangled.
This isn't Oklahoma's first rodeo with loose cattle.
Although it's not completely common, it definitely isn't rare to see loose cattle in Oklahoma. Just this year, we've seen at least three incidents of cows causing chaos on Oklahoma streets.
On May 13, officers had to wrangle a cow running rampant on I-40, just outside of Oklahoma City. According to reports, the animal had escaped from the OKC Stockyards and caused major traffic delays.
Another incident on July 21, 2025 caused another frenzy in I-40, near the I-35 interchange. Three loose cattle were running along the highway and two of them were captured eventually. Unfortunately, because of an injury and risk of safety for drivers on the highway, the third cow was put down.
The cattle that were out in Moore, Oklahoma, on October 3, 2025 caused a lot less of a problem for drivers and more so for local law enforcement. The cattle definitely gave the officers a run for their money, but were eventually herded back to safety.
