If you're an Oklahoman looking for any way to get into the Christmas spirit, this first ever event may be one to put on your list. This year is the first year that Jeri Christmas will be hosting a Christmas Bazaar in Lawton, Oklahoma. It'll be your chance to support local, enjoy literally everything Christmas and even help a local organization.

The bazaar will be happening at Naturescape Nursery in Lawton, kicking off on Friday, Dec. 6 with sponsors and VIP guests. The nursery will be full of 15 vendors inside all set up and offering anything and everything Christmas.

From christmas metal from Crooked Halo Boutique to special Scentsy Christmas scents, there will be a little bit of something for every kind of Christmas time lover. Jeri Christmas will also have some never-before-seen Christmas decor and handcrafted or renovated furniture.

The bazaar also rolls into Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. and wrapping up at 4 p.m. Saturday's events are open to the public and include a chance to get photos with Santa or the Grinch, enter to win door prizes and even get a special storytime reading from Jeri Christmas herself.

Who Is Jeri Christmas?

Jeri Christmas is a locally ran pop up Christmas shop started by Jeri Anderson. When it comes to Jeri, every day is a perfect day for Christmas. "Keeping the Christmas spirit alive is something you can absolutely do 365 days a year," she explained. "It's the joy, the smiles - it's all what makes Christmas so fun and something we can absolutely keep going."

After a full year of being in business as a Christmas shop at Past Perfect Too, Jeri said that she wanted to find a way to give back to the community. That's why she decided to host an event like this; a combination of the proceeds and sponsorshop money is going to one of the local charities that is near and dear to her heart: Coats For Kids.

Coats for Kids is an organization in Lawton that helps keeps kids warm with donations. Throughout the year, they collect donated hats, gloves and coats for school aged children in Lawton. Since they've already collected donations and distributed them to Lawton's kiddos as of today, Jeri's donation after the event will help kickstart their collection for next year.

On top of Jeri's donation, BlueMoon Custom Apparel and Boutique also decided to help in their own way. They'll be offering t-shirts specially designed for the event, only available during early sales and at the bazaar. All proceeds (after cost) from the shirts will go straight to Coats For Kids.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own coats, hats, gloves, and monetary donations to the event to help Lawton's children. The event is only $5 to attend on Saturday and is open to anyone and everyone who loves Christmas.

It happens to be the perfect weekend right after Oklahoma's Christmas farms have just opened up. Not all are just offering trees, some have hot cocoa, movie nights and photo opportunities for your next Christmas card.
