Oklahoma Could Have Super Soaker Rain Showers Next Week
Some places in Oklahoma haven't seen rain in over a month, but next week, much of Oklahoma could see copious amounts of rain. Tropical Storm Norma could send a few bouts of heavy rain to the Sooner State.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, areas of Oklahoma haven't seen rain from two to five weeks, so next week's big rain chances will be welcomed.
What are Oklahoma's chances of rain next week?
As Tropical Storm Norma moves its way through the Pacific Ocean and into Mexico and Texas, Oklahoma could be the recipient of some rainfall from this storm. But how far the rain will reach and how much areas will receive is still up in the air.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Tuesday, Oct. 24 and Wednesday, Oct. 25 will be Oklahoma's biggest chances for rain.
The Oklahoma Mesonet is hopeful and skeptical for rainfall next week.
According to the Oklahoma Mesonet, it's looking like Oklahoma is pretty much guaranteed to get rain next week. But as far as where the rain will fall and how much is where things are not set in stone. As of Thursday, Oct. 19, it's looking like some areas of Oklahoma could see anywhere from two to four inches of rain!
Oklahoma will have a hot weekend before the rain and cold front next week.
Unfortunately, a fall-weather weekend is not on the forecast for Oklahoma. It'll be a warm weekend with temperatures near 90. But after the rains move through next week, Oklahoma should cool down before Halloween weekend.
