Oklahoma Will Warm Up Again Before Another Cooldown
Oklahomans got to enjoy a somewhat fall-like temperature weekend. But it looks like warmer temperatures are back on the forecast this week before another cooldown. Will this one stay for good?
Today (Monday, Oct. 9), Oklahomans will see temperatures jump back up into the high 80s. Ew. As we move through the week, temperatures could get back up in the 90s. And we thought summer temperatures were gone for good?
Another cooldown is on the horizon!
Luckily, there's a fall-like cooldown headed for Oklahoma later this week. We'll slowly cool down Thursday, but we'll see a drastic difference Friday and into the weekend. Temperatures will get down into the 60s with overnight lows in the 40s.
The big question is: will these cooler temperatures stay for good?
It feels like every week since fall began that we get a taste of fall and then the temperatures jump right back to feeling like summer. Typical Oklahoma, huh? According to the National Weather Service in Norman, the upcoming cold front is looking to be hard to predict, like when the front will reach Oklahoma and how cool temperatures will be behind the front.
However, the National Weather Service is confident that this week's above-average temperatures will last through at least Thursday afternoon. Then the cooldown is expected to begin. So that's somewhat good news for more fall-like weather! Let's just hope it's finally here to stay.
Storms could come with this upcoming cold front.
Of course, it wouldn't be an Oklahoma cold front without storms! It looks like there's a chance for storms with the cold front on Thursday. Whether or not these storms will be severe will be determined closer to time.
