Dangerous Conditions On Oklahoma Roads Due To High Winds
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently working several accidents involving overturned semis due to the extremely high winds. They have also suspended transporting any oversize loads while the winds are blasting through the state. These are among only a few of the dangers currently threatening Oklahoma drivers.
Accidents are beginning to pile up due to the low visibility on highways and major roads throughout the state.
While OHP is concerned with semis, certain civilians are tackling roaming roofs flying across yards and posing a major risk for vehicles and people outside.
From roofs to signs, loose metal has seemed to be the most common lethal debris flying across Oklahoma. But trees are also toppling down, landing on vehicles and fences.
According to meteorologist Mike Morgan, Oklahoma has seen winds as high as 73mph today and it doesn't seem to be settling until later this evening on Friday, March 14.
Combined with the fact that fires have sparked throughout Oklahoma, it's wise for Oklahomans to stay indoors and avoid being out and about if possible.
