Ozzy Osbourne will lead a parade of peers roasting his long-time former guitarist Zakk Wylde at Guitar World‘s first ever rock ‘n’ roll roast taking place on Jan. 19, at the Grove in Anaheim, Calif.

A raucous night of comedy, charity and chaos is planned, with a portion of the proceeds going to the MusiCares charity, which provides a safety net of critical assistance when music people are in need.

The guitar legend has come a long way from the New Jersey gas station where Osbourne hired him from. Wylde’s band Black Label Society has sold millions of albums worldwide, so the guitarist should have thick enough skin to take the heat of this roast.

Revolver magazine recently named Wylde one of the “100 greatest living rock stars” but roastmaster Sharon Osbourne thinks “my boy needs a good kicking.” Apparently, she’s in good company because her husband Ozzy, Chris Jericho, Anthrax’s Scott Ian, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor will also be on hand to take shots at Wylde.

“How can they roast me? I’m a good Catholic boy…” responded Wylde after hearing he was to be the first victim of this annual event. We here at Ultimate Classic Rock have to ask, how can they not? Wylde’s signature guitar displays a bulls-eye right on the front of it, which makes him a target, straight out of the gate.
