Paul Simon is putting out what he calls some of his best work.  "Songwriter" will be released October 24, just eleven days after the iconic singer turns 70.

This two disc collection is years in the making and doesn't necessarily mean it will be him singing on the tracks.  One of the tracks is a version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" done by the Queen of Soul - Aretha Franklin

Paul has always thought of himself as a songwriter first and a recording artist and performer second.  There will also be staples such as the "Boxer" recorded with Art Garfunkle and performed live in Central Park.

But hold on for many new songs never released before.  This is yet the side of Paul Simon that he loves.  Releasing new material and then watching the fans both old and young alike embracing the music that has spanned generation after generation.
