Tinashe postponed her international tour earlier this month, so she could focus on her delayed sophomore album, Joyride. But on the slow road to its completion (the album was officially announced last September), there's been another wrench thrown into the works: Rihanna reportedly recorded her own version of the title track...which strongly suggests it's not her title track anymore.

While unconfirmed rumors that Ms. Fenty wanted the song have been floating around for at least a month, screencaps of an alleged chat between fans and Tinashe herself seem to confirm it.

It should be noted that it's unclear when the song was registered and recorded, or if it's even being used — it clearly didn't appear on RiRi's Anti. But a closer look at the song credits reveal it was co-written by two artists with close ties to Rihanna: Chauncey Hollis and Jacques Webster, aka Hit-Boy and Travi$ Scott. Hit-Boy produced Talk That Talk's "Watch 'n Learn" and "Woo" from Anti, while Scott has both written and produced with Rihanna and been linked to her romantically. If the three decided they'd have another hit on their hands with "Joyride," it stands to reason they'd reallocate it. Particularly given the fact that Joyride (Tinashe's album, not the song) has yet to get a release date.

"I know there has been some confusion in regards to my album’s release date," Tinashe wrote in a Facebook update to fans three weeks ago. "Trust me, I am as eager to get it out to you as you are to hear it. I will be wrapping up the finishing touches on Joyride by the end of May, and will be back on the road shortly thereafter to see all of you."

According to a screenshot shared by Idolator, Tinashe expressed frustration with her label, RCA, for prioritizing Zayn's Mind of Mine release before his labelmates'. She had previously admitted to Spin that she'd "leaked" album track "Party Favors" just to push a new song out ahead of label-delayed schedule.

Will we ever hear Tinashe's version of "Joyride"? And when will we hear Rihanna's? Stay tuned.
