Though Rihanna doesn't have very many meaty movie roles to her credit so far, the Bajan pop princess has her eyes on the ultimate acting award.

While working the press tour for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Rihanna's been opining about her potential cinematic future. Speaking with The Sun, Rihanna talked about her brief sojourns onto the silver screen, and how she doesn't think she's reached her full potential just yet. In fact, she thinks one day she might be able to be one of the rare performers that's able to win a Grammy and an Oscar.

“I’d love to get there one day. Who doesn’t want to be told they are doing a great job?" RiRi said. “I don’t think anyone makes an album thinking about winning a Grammy, or makes a movie thinking about winning an Oscar. What you do is work as hard as you can and if awards follow, then that’s great.”

Given that Ms. Fenty has already pulled in eight Grammys since 2008, it's certainly not outrageous for her to have eyes on the golden idol of Hollywood, too. You don't win a MTV Movie Award for "Best Cameo" and not get hungry for more, folks.

To her credit, Rihanna has taken her movie exploits more seriously since appearing in the board game disasterpiece, Battleship. 2014's Annie didn't fare much better, but Home wasn't half-bad, and Valerian looks like it will be another Luc Besson sci-fi masterpiece with a huge cult following. It won't be until 2018 that we really get to see what Rihanna can do on the big screen though, when she appears in Ocean's 8 alongside luminaries like Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter.

That an Ocean's movie would offer up an Oscar-worthy performance would be something else, but RiRi is still early in her acting career, and will only be 30 next year. Working alongside all those fierce actors can only help her hone her craft. She's got plenty of time to develop enough chops to earn the Academy's attention. Especially if that movie with Lupita Nyong'o actually ends up making it through production.

Now all we need to do is get her one huge guest appearance on a premiere television or streaming show (hello, Mahershala and True Detective Season 3?), and a starring role in a Broadway musical. Someone call Lin Manuel Miranda to help the only girl in the world out. There's the elusive EGOT. If anyone can pull it off, it's the Rated R superstar.
