Spooky Season With Safari Animals in Oklahoma – But At Night
If you aren't at a fair, or a festival, or a pumpkin patch in Oklahoma during the fall, then there's just one place left to go: the local petting zoo. I don't know what it is about the fall that makes us all fall for some adorable, fluffy or furry animals - but it's definitely a highlight this time of year.
While most petting zoos stay open during the day, there's one particular place that is offering a new kind of tour after the sun goes down. But this place isn't just your typical park.
Find out how you can be part of one of the coolest - and least scary - nighttime events happening every weekend this October at Safari Stayz in Wanette, Oklahoma.
Animal encounter experience Safari Stayz announces new Nocturnal Night tour.
There's lots of haunted houses, haunted mazes and other scary events to go to leading up to Halloween. But this Airbnb/animal encounter experience is doing something a lot more interesting without the scare.
"We will be turning the lights out at our facility and you will be given a lantern to go through the tour," they said in their announcement via Facebook.
Many of their animals, like lemurs, zebras, deer, foxes, otters and many other exotics, are active at night. With a lantern to light the way, there's a good chance you'll see a totally different side to some of these critters.
How do I sign up for the Nocturnal Night tour?
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October, starting at 6:30 p.m., the staff is cutting out the lights and leading guests through the tour.
You do not have to have a stay planned at the Airbnb in order to attend the tour, but you do have to book tickets ahead of time since slots are limited. Message their Facebook page or text the number on their website to reserve a spot.
Tickets are $45 per person and an additional $15 for the bat feeding experience. They'll also have a Halloween costume contest, but they are asking visitors to be courteous with their costume choice.
"You can not wear anything large and hard to move in," they said.
