Classic Lawton Chevrolet is celebrating all things art and chalk with a fun fundraiser, Paint the Car Lot.

This event was the brainchild of Classic Chevrolet owner Erv Randle, who thought, how fun would it be to paint up the car lot with lots of different art.  And with the shortages in New Vehicles due to the COVID Pandemic, they have a huge space in their car lot right now.

This event, scheduled for October 23, will run from 11 am to 2 pm, and individuals (or clubs) can 'purchase' space in the lot for just $25.  All of the proceeds will go to help to fund Arts for All, Inc.

Since 1974, the Arts for All Festival has been Southwest Oklahoma's largest and most popular cultural event, drawing people from Oklahoma and Texas for a weekend filled with art, entertainment, and tantalizing foods. The festival is a cooperative effort of businesses, civic organizations, and hundreds of volunteers who support and encourage the arts. All profits are contributed to the participating arts organization of Arts for All Inc.

Arts for All's event has had to be postponed until 2022 because of COVID.  What better way to show appreciation for art, than by creating some yourself. Plus, there's a bonus.  Classic Lawton Chevrolet will match donations up to $3,000!

And, don't worry, your business isn't being left out either.  They are allowing businesses to compete with each other in this contest with Business Parking Lot spaces going for $100 apiece.

Prizes will be awarded:

1st Place $500

2nd Place $300

3rd Place $100

Southwest Oklahoma Opera Guild

Lawton Pro Musica

AFA member groups present world-class arts events and extend arts into the schools throughout the year to well over 100,000 people annually. In addition, AFA member groups provide the volunteers needed to present major arts events such as the AFA Festival and the AFA Gala. These events let the public enjoy the arts while raising funds which member art groups use to keep the arts strong in our community and schools. This is especially important in this time of limited public funding of the arts and the elimination of art teachers in schools.
