If you haven't signed up or opted in for the City of Lawton CodeRED alert service yet, what are you waiting for? It's super quick and easy to do. Once you're signed up you'll receive emergency alerts for severe weather, road closures, evacuation notices and more. You'll get detailed information fast that will inform and help protect you and your loved ones. It's a great service and it comes in real handy. Plus it's fully customizable.

As crazy as the weather can get around here it's always a good idea to stay weather aware and have some sort of alert or warning system that can keep you up to date with what Mother Nature is up to. But, CodeRED is more than that. You can receive alerts about careers, recent city council updates, traffic advisories, power outages, election details, utility issues or disruptions, news specific to your interests and needs.

Take for example the recent boil advisory. A few weeks ago the west side of town was under a water boil advisory and those with CodeRED received alerts and were kept informed until the notice was lifted or expired. This way you don't have to go looking for news and information about what's going on, it'll all come to you. Get calls and text messages with all the important details you need and that you've selected.

To get signed up or opt in for CodeRED alerts visit the official City of Lawton website  lawtonok.gov or you can text “LAWTON101” to 99411. If you don't have internet access you can stop by the Lawton Public Library for assistance. See the press release below for all the details on the City o Lawton CodeRED alert service.
