Get Ready For Fun At Spencer’s Grand Opening This Saturday

Lawton's west side is gaining a few new stores this year, including the first ever standalone location for Spencers. They will be hosting their grand opening event on Saturday, June 7 with a variety of giveaways, freebies, games and more.

The new Spencers location at 2136 NW 82^nd Street Space #25 will be giving out $10 gift cards to the first 100 visitors, starting at 1 p.m. and going until 5 p.m. Take a look at how their new stand alone location will be different from the small space in the old Central Mall.

Out of the 78 years that Spencers has been open and operated in the United States, they've only ever had one brick and mortar of their own, which was the very first store of theirs to open after they'd spent some time as a mail-to-order catalog business. Since then, they've opened 680 retail locations across the nation and have expanded their online business tremendously.

Lawton's location will be the first ever stand alone store in the United States.

Spencer's opened their doors earlier this month after leaving the storefront in the Central Plaza, previously known as the Central Mall. When asked why they moved, management told us that the new location "brought a bigger business opportunity." And boy, they weren't kidding.

The new store has plenty of space for more of everything they already sold - yes, everything. Rather than a small slot within the mall, this place is plum full and ready for visitors. Staff members have been working hard to make sure they're ready for Lawton's onslaught of people to come and check everything out.
