One Of Oklahoma’s Most Famous Parades Returns This Christmas Season

You've seen Chickasha, and Yukon, and a Broken Arrow Christmas.

But do you recall one of the most famous celebrations of all?

Oklahoma City's Stockyards is hosting their annual Christmas Parade and everyone's invited! Here's all you need to know to make the most of the holiday experience.

This year, the Stockyards City is hosting their annual Cowboy Christmas parade on Saturday, December 6, beginning at 10 a.m.

As usual, the famous longhorn cattle from Slash O Ranch will lead the way. They're welcoming other equestrian groups, marching bands, antique car clubs, and community groups to also participate.

According to the Stockyard's City Times, this year's Grand Marshal for the parade is none other than Pake McEntire, once part of the iconic group "The Singing McEntires" with his younger sister, Reba.

The Stockyards are kicking off their Christmas celebrations early this year, with the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony happening well before Thanksgiving on  Friday, November 21.

Free hot cocoa, pictures with Cowboy Santa, carriage rides, and live entertainment will be waiting for everyone at the corner of Agnew and Exchange, right beside the Headed to Market statue. The tree lighting ceremony starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.

After the parade on December 6, Stockyards visitors will be able to visit with Cowboy Santa and have their picture made at the Rodeo Cinema.
