As proof that you can't keep a good band down, the Sound City Players, a supergroup put together by Dave Grohl to promote his 'Sound City' documentary, will perform at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Feb. 13. This will be their only New York appearance.

Foo Fighters bandmates Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins will induct Rush into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April, during a ceremony in Los Angeles, Calif. A press release at RockHall.com also revealed who will induct Albert King, Randy Newman and Donna Summer, but didn't mention what artist will do the honors for Heart or Public Enemy.

More sounds from the upcoming 'Sound City Reel to Reel' album have been released. Rocker and film director Dave Grohl has teamed with Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick and bassist Scott Reeder to create 'From Can to Can't,' a soaring rock ballad that will transcend one back to 2002 when everything on the radio was thick with heartache power chords and thin on melody.

After premiering at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 18, Dave Grohl's 'Sound City' documentary will be released to theaters in cities across the country. The one-night-only event will take place in over 40 cities on Jan. 31, with additional one-night showings on Feb. 1, Feb. 7, Feb. 15, Feb. 20 and Feb. 22.

The band Dave Grohl has assembled to support his 'Sound City' documentary wouldn't fit into the legendary studio at one time. John Fogerty and Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks are just two of Grohl's Sound City Players. The group will make their live debut on Jan. 18 at Park City Live.

Last Sunday's Kennedy Center Honors provided a reunion of sorts for Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, bandmates in Them Crooked Vultures. While drumming during the Led Zeppelin tribute was a dream come true for Grohl, he says recording with the Zep bassist was an unforgettable experience.
