The Avengers

Well, these are awesome. Our pals at ScreenCrush hipped us to some artwork of Alison Brie as Captain America, Sandra Bullock as Iron Man and Amber Heard as Thor.

Since the news that Spider-Man would be joining The Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we couldn't help but wonder what that was going to look like. It was a possibility that many movie fans had hoped for for years, but were told was never going to happen. We didn't even let our minds think of what could be. Now that it's actually going to happen, our minds are reeling. What will it look like to have Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye share the screen with Spider-Man? Well, you can get an idea with this awesome new Marvel movie mashup.

We know that Tony Stark's Iron Man suit is powerful—when fully charged, it can lift over 100 tons—but, we probably didn't realize just how heavy it is. The original suit in the first ‘Iron Man’ movie weighed over 90 lbs. That's big, hot costume to have to act in all day. And, to think, it was almost not even Robert Downey, Jr. underneath all that armor. In case you hadn’t heard, the new ‘Avengers 2’ trailer is here. If you haven’t yet, you should watch it—it’s quite entertaining. If you have already, good you’re in the right place. We’ve gone through this trailer a few times and pulled out some of the more interesting elements to dissect and discuss. We’re not literally going to screencap every single moment (no one needs to see a shot of Tony Stark walking with our commentary of, “Here’s Tony Stark walking…”), just the ones that need highlighting and could reveal some things about the secrets of ‘Avengers 2’. Ready? (Spoilers ahead, obviously.)

The last ‘Avengers 2’ trailer was pretty fantastic, but like all good teases, it left us wanting more. One cannot subside on a single Hulkbuster GIF alone! Well today our Marvel overlords have granted us the sweet release we so desperately need in a brand new ‘Avengers 2’ trailer and it was well worth the wait.

It’s a debate that has literally raged on for decades. Who would win in a fight: the heroes of the Marvel comic book universe or the heroes of DC Comics? It’s mostly been a theoretical debate. Even a handful of special events over the years that saw both companies come together to pit their characters against one another have done little to solve things. This eternal, burning question is the inspiration behind a new fan-made trailer for a movie that will never, ever exist: ‘Marvel vs DC.’

Just yesterday, the reveal of a new Iron Man toy gave us out first glimpse of the character’s new armor in the upcoming ‘The Avengers 2.’ The trend of toys jumping the gun continues today: a German ad for the first wave of LEGO sets based on Joss Whedon’s superhero team-up sequel has made its way online and it may very well tease some setpieces and concepts that haven’t been present in any of the trailers thus far.

Every few months, someone on the internet loudly declares that we're probably nearing the end of the superhero movie as a popular genre. And then, every few months, another trailer arrives that proves that we're going to be watching movies starring people wearing capes and tights for a long time yet. The new trailer for 'Avengers 2' lit the internet on fire, as you'd expect from the sequel to one of the most popular blockbusters in recent years. In fact, if success can be measured in trailer views, then Marvel and Disney can already call this one a big winner.

We got our first official look at 'Avengers 2' through concept art shown during an hourlong TV special on ABC, 'Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe.' Now, in honor of Marvel's 75th anniversary of existence, a second TV special will drop this November. Does this mean we will see the first 'Avengers 2' trailer officially released?

We've seen college course offerings focus on the 'Harry Potter' universe, comic books, and even one specifically for 'The Walking Dead,' but now it's Marvel's turn to educate younglings about the intricacies of their Cinematic Universe.

Just when you think you have a handle on all of the rumors and spoilers for 'The Avengers 2,' a new and intriguing concept rears its head. Yes, it's once again time to play the "Marvel Cinematic Universe Rumor and/or Spoiler" game and this time, it's all about future iterations of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Spoilers ahead, obviously.

Part of the fun of watching a Marvel movie is looking out for all those Easter eggs strewn throughout, and you can be sure 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has a handful, as well.
