It's one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the Sooner State. This hidden Oklahoma waterfall in the Wichita Mountains is a must-see and worth finding. All it takes is a short hike to get there.

Now that we're finally starting to cool off some, it's the perfect time to hit the trails and do some hiking in the Wichita Mountains. Maybe even go camping and make a weekend getaway or staycation out of it. If you're looking for some fall family fun that doesn't cost much you can't beat it!

Due to the extreme heat and the recent unfortunate death of a hiker, the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge has an emergency closure order and new time restrictions on hiking and trail walking.

So have you had your fill of horror movies and haunted attractions? If not and you're still looking to get scared you could always take a horrifying hike on this Oklahoma trail, if you're brave enough.

Making plans now with the family for various stay-cations this Spring and Summer. We're always on the look out for new and different places to visit, but aren't too far from the house. You know a quick day trip type getaway and there's plenty of places to go and see that are only a few short hours from Lawton.

Yesterday Kelso and I decided to take a quick lunch break and head to the mountains. It's been forever since I've driven through the refuge, not to mention up Mount Scott. All the road repairs have been completed and Mt. Scott is officially reopened. We made a quick stop, grabbed some lunch, and headed to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge for a short break. It's a great way to get a little R&R in the middle of the workday.
